Wonder why the administration is telling us all about the 2002 attempted plane into building attack now? Could it be that Bush wants to tell us yet again that we should not be lulled "into an illusion that the threats to our nation have disappeared."
Because it can only be that we've been lulled into such a state of illusion that we're picky about protecting the Constitution of the US against domestic attacks.

call me cynical, but i think we can expect more of the same, as we draw closer and closer to the midterm elections. that's the only card they have left to play. wanna run on iraq? on domestic affairs, e.g. katrina response, medicare drug plan fiasco? on probity, decency and honor, in the shadow of abramoff, delay and all the rest of the gang? all you got left is promoting geo bush as the only thing standing between us and the apocalypse. i was just thinking the other day that we haven't had ONE SINGLE terror alert since the presidential election. how many did we have before that??
unfortunately for all of us, i think osama is rooting for bush and the repubs, too. remember his appearance just a few days before the bush re-election? why, gw is osama's best friend, in terms of bringing in the jihadi candidates. bush has the bag of threats to take from, osama will appear to support him and everyone who objects to unrestricted wiretapping will be lumped with the terrorists and the enemies of freedom everywhere. well, i guess we already hated freedom anyway.
how can this destructive dynamic be broken or interrupted?
