When Bush & Co. came up with their excuses for invading Iraq, and certainly for staying in after those first excuses were found bankrupt, do you think they had any idea that they were laying the groundwork for Turkey's wish to invade Iraq?
In Bush world, a nation has a right to invade another country if they harbor terrorists (ok for US, ok for Israel). So of course Bush & Co., would be standing behind Turkey's potential Iraqi invasion, right?
Ha ha ha, of course not! Bush & Co., are nothing if not hypocrites. So the Bush reaction, of course, is “We don’t think it’s in their interest to send more troops in.” Then again, maybe they're just being friendly. After all, Bush & Co., know what happens when a country invades Iraq. Maybe they're just looking out for our Turkish allies.

It certainly is a rich vein, Bush hypocrisy. Remember all that blather about how arrogant people were, implying that Middle East people were "not capable or deserving" of "democracy," how they were "programmed to respond to tyrants," how this was a kind of bigotry on the part of war critics?
Well, someone asked him the other day about Russians' apparent embrace of Putin, a dictator in fact if not name, and the president said that appreciation of democracy, free speech, etc., "just isn't in Russian DNA."
like i said, a very rich vein there.
The word hypocrisy seems to have been invented just for the occasion of Bush World. The man looks just a bit silly these days, huh?
I loved the Putin comment - I was going to blog on it, but thought maybe my co-blogger Bucky might want too. It was really a moment for the books, wasn't it. I wonder why he didn't see that democracy isn't in the Russian DNA when he looked into Putin's eyes all those years ago.
